The Wandering New Yorker: City Club Raleigh

As a born and raised New Yorker, I have been always been the “up and go” type of person. Staying at home for too long has made me stir-crazy since I was a child, and now as an adult, this penchant for adventure has taken me on an interesting ride to a multitude of places I have had the opportunity to live and visit. In this series, I’ll be taking you through the sights and sounds of the places I have been and where I currently am. So get your plane tickets ready, and come aboard with me – The Wandering New Yorker.

City Club Raleigh is a place I have heard about through the networks of business in Raleigh, NC. It’s a located in the historic Fayetteville street district of downtown Raleigh, NC and it’s a hidden gem on the 28th floor within the Wells Fargo building right across from the Capitol Building.

On my visit to the City Club, I was lucky enough to have a guide to all the great amenities the club has to offer before entering the main lobby of the club, which is host to a gorgeous view of the city. I was there for two meetings, one with an employee of the club which I met at the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce’s YPN Conference and the other with my supervisor. So, I spent the day at the City Club enjoying their view and their quiet, casual dining area where I was able to work on my laptop for several hours without being disturbed.

The City Club is a place where business people from all over Raleigh convene for networking, meetings, events professional seminars, and to enjoy the amenities the club presents. This club offers you the opportunity to meet other professionals from the area to create relationships, enhance your social circle and further your professional goals. The club not only has multiple dining rooms that you can utilize as co-working spaces, but they also have conference rooms and meeting rooms available. You can also utilize the club to host your company events, such as a Holiday Party. Along with all the in-house amenities, The City Club offers a variety of membership amenities that allow you to utilize them wherever your business takes you.

The staff of the club were hospitable and made sure I was comfortable and taken care of throughout the day. My table had been reserved for both of my meetings, and I was able to attend both of them without having to think of anything else besides the task at hand. Dining here for both lunch and dinner, I was also able to try both items from their menu and from their buffet-style dining room. For lunch, I sampled their pork chops, with a side of steamed asparagus and mashed potatoes, paired with a recommended mint sweet tea was absolutely wonderful. For dinner, I tried their soup of the day, which was one of the best Butternut Squash soups I think I have ever had and the crown jewel of this meal was definitely their bacon and cotton candy appetizer which was both visually stunning and delicious.

Visiting City Club Raleigh was a unique experience which gave me new insights into the standard of business within the Raleigh-Durham area. It’s a vibrant community that is always looking to make strides towards connecting with other professionals and enjoying the life that comes with it. If you’re located in the Raleigh area and are looking for a business club, I highly recommend visiting the City Club. If nothing else, you can’t beat the view!
