What’s Up, Left Coast?
After one very short day of rest, I am back and better than ever to write the first of a very exciting lil’ series I am doing on Country Jam Colorado 2018! This will be my fourth year in attendance and I have a feeling it’s going to be the best one yet.
Each year, Country Jam hosts a four day, multistage, camping and music festival with 30+ artists from around the world. While Country Jam is always the highlight of my summer, this year is especially exciting. I have set up EIGHT different interviews with some of my favorite up-and-coming artists who will be performing. How cool is that?!
Some of the artists we will feature include Gunnar and the Grizzly Boys (check out our previous campaign here), The Williams Brothers Band, Elizabeth Lyons, Elana Jane, Dylan Jakobson, Trent Harmon and Jackson Michelson just to name a few. I will constantly be in the center of the action for the entirety of the festival. Why? Because I will be camping ALL four days!
Expectations Are Extremely High
It is supposed to be 90+ degrees every day I am there! And the campground is nothing more than a GIANT dirt patch you can park on. I will be sure to take plenty of pictures so you can really understand what I mean when I say: the field is large and the people are one-of-a-kind. Check out the map to see how huge the grounds really are (and how far I have to walk each morning). The red circle is where our spots are for the next 4 days.
Country Jam has a unique community that is created in the camp area but transfers over into the performance grounds, and this really sets it apart from other festivals. Concerts will go from 12pm-12am every night and then the music will continue on both side stages aka Jacks Stage. The campground itself has swing and line dance floors, after parties and 24-hr DJs that keep the weekend constantly rockin’.
With something happening almost every hour of the day, it’s easy to make new friends immediately. While the line up is impressive, it’s the festival’s constant party atmosphere that attracts worldwide country music fans. In fact, over 92,000 people were in attendance last year and even larger crowds are expected this year.
The only downside to large crowds in such a secluded space is the lack of WiFi and adequate cell reception. I must keep you all updated while I am there! Instead of constant updates, I will be doing a recap of my weekend. PLUS a separate piece on the SUPER exciting interviews we will be grabbing with On The Scene at Country Jam 2018!
Check back next week for a detailed account of all my crazy adventures and maybe even a video or two.
