Ally to Watch: Dale Romero Design

Dale RomeroWhen we reached out to Dale Romero about his numerous design campaign wins, he replied to our questionnaire with hilarious GIFS that simply had to be included in his feature. Get to know more about this creative, including some of his favorite artists and his advice for fellow designers.

Where are you from and what is your occupation?

I am from Quezon City, Philippines and I own a small clothing brand e-commerce store as well as do freelance work from time to time.

How did you get started?

It was an accident and is a very long story.

Fur DesignTell us about a previous design contest win and how you felt?

I subconsciously knew I was going to win. My guts and nerves were sending signals to my conscious mind. After a couple of weeks, I read your email and wasn’t surprised anymore. I surely danced!

How do you start your process for working on a piece?

I usually draw things in my mind and visualize, like day dreaming.

What kind of contests would you be really excited to see?

I love creating for certain topics with no boundaries, like that of the All Posters design contests. I love the ingenuity and the freedom I could imagine.

Tell us about your design style.

Honestly, that’s a very struggling question for an artist to answer. I’m still figuring out my style! I’m a jack of all trades but still a master of none.

DesignsWhat are some of your favorite design tools?

I consider myself as a modern artisan and a greatly influenced by the millennial era so my works is 100% “digital”

Who are some of your favorite artists? Books?

My favorite artists of all time are James Jean and Mathiole .

Kinda boring but I mostly read self-help and entrepreneurial works. But I do love Chariot of the Gods by Erich Von Däniken.

What does it mean to be creative?

As a creative person, your mind wonders a lot and you are often not content in your thoughts because your mind continues to explore a wide array of inspiration. It’s confusing but creative people are very interesting!

Lastly, what advice do you have for other or creatives?

Search for something more and hope for something good.
