Amiel Larazo has been part of our community for four years. His artistic skills caught our eye in our recent design campaigns for Mai Lan and Rich Kids. His use of color was not only vibrant but definitely unique. We asked this creative designer how he got started and about his inspirations.
Why are you a designer?
I’m captivated by design and art. It’s a hobby that became my passion.
I’m from “Bayang Pinagpala” Pila Laguna, Philippines. It influences me a lot because that was the place I grow up where I develop my talent and passion.
How did you get started?
It all started when I was a kid. I would always draw things that came up on my mind. I decided to study illustration by myself at home watching videos and asking tips from other designers.
I’m a student by morning and freelancer by night. It just comes out of me. Every day, I design and illustrate or else my day will not be complete.
My favorite design tools are illustrator and Photoshop.
What do you like best about the Creative Allies community?
The best part of Creative Allies is the opportunity to show creativeness in different style/themes.
What does it mean to be creative?
For me, it means changing your perspective and showing something new with your own style.
Most of all my family inspires me also because they have always supported my work.
How do you start your process for working on a piece?
First, I evaluate the problem that needs a solution and think of an idea. Then, I create a rough sketch and finish it in digital.
Don’t wait in something that will happen. Find it yourself and make it happen!
